  • On pressure of playing Joker – “I could care less. I don’t really think that much about what people think. Who cares, who cares?”
  • Said choosing a role is all about chemistry (“If there’s something that feels unique, then I don’t really care what genre it is, what budget it is. Those things aren’t important. What gets my interest is examining people. Some of it is really f***ing simple. It’s chemistry, it’s like what you look for in a lover. You know it when it happens.”)

Director James Wan talks Aquaman in interview with Total Film Magazine (via Games Radar)

  • On choosing Aquaman – “Let’s face it, [Aquaman is] the superhero that everyone makes fun of. There was a bit of reservation at the start about whether or not I should pursue this character. But the more I thought about it, I always love being the underdog. Coming from the horror genre, you’re always the underdog. So I got used to that mentality.”
  • On bringing some horror to the film – “I said, ‘I can have monsters in there. Are you guys OK if I have monsters in there?’ They said, ‘Have monsters!'”
