Matt Reeves talks slightly about his Batman movie – The Hollywood Reporter
- On his “take” on Batman – “It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”
- They are referring to it as The Batman for now, but that might not be the final title
- On casting – “There will be a Rogues Gallery. The casting process will begin shortly. We’re starting to put together our battle plan. I’m doing another pass on the script and we’ll begin some long-lead stuff to start developing conceptual things. “
- On if he’s involved with other films (Birds of Prey, Batgirl) – “Right now, I’m involved in The Batman. What it will be called ultimately, I don’t know. Aquaman is going to be very different from the Todd Phillips Joker movie, and that’s going to be different from Shazam and Harley Quinn. Warners believes they don’t have to try to develop a giant slate that has to have all the plans for how it’s going to connect. What they need to try and do is make good movies with these characters.”
James Gunn now in talks to direct The Suicide Squad – The Hollywood Reporter
- Gunn was reported to be writing the film with possibility to direct last October
- “The pic has the title of The Suicide Squad and is not being labeled a direct sequel but as a relaunch…Sources say that Gunn’s focus is to take the franchise in a new direction with a mostly all-new cast of characters and actors. Sources also say that the project is also very much rooted in Gunn’s vibe, as seen in the Guardians movies.”
- Title of The Suicide Squad
- Charles Roven and Peter Safran (Aquaman, Shazam!) will produce; Safran has worked with Gunn before

- Just shy of $1.1 billion

WB is working to bring back James Wan for an Aquaman sequel- Deadline
- “Sources said the plan in discussion is for Wan to oversee the development of a second film, including the selection of writers, and then make a decision on whether to direct it when he sees the script.”

- Hopes there isn’t a Justice League movie for awhile and see solo films
- “Never say never” on if she would direct a JL film
