Will apparently go by Edward Nashton; has happened before in comics before changing last name to Nygma
Dano is known for There Will be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine, 12 Years a Slave, Looper

According to Deadline (in Kravitz article), Mattson Tomlin co-wrote the screenplay with director Matt Reeves

Tomlin has written/directed several shorts (including one on Solomon Grundy, probably not the DC one)
(Deadline) – had 2 scripts appear on the 2017 Black List (best screenplays not produced)

HBO Max is developing a series based on (former) Vertigo title DMZ – Deadline

DMZ is set in Manhattan and shows a second American Civil War in modern day
Comic was created by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli, running 72 issues from 2005-2012
(Deadline) – DMZ was in development at Syfy back in 2014
Ava DuVernay (New Gods) to direct the pilot
Roberto Patino (Sons of Anarchy) will write pilot, executive produce and serve as showrunner
Pilot expected to begin production in early 2020

DC Universe updates from NYCC

Harley Quinn animated series will debut Friday, November 29
DC animated original movies will now debut 90 days after physical release (instead of same day)
DCYou Unscripted – allows fans to pitch a non-scripted streaming series with rewards
New anthology show BizarroTV – “which will feature “characters from the more obscure corners of the DC Universe.” The mixed media series arrives on DC Universe in 2020, and is produced by Blue Ribbon Content, Warner Bros. Television Group’s digital production unit. Expect a wide range of experimental styles and a mix of live action and animation, featuring deep cuts from the DC Universe, including characters like Space Cabbie, Ambush Bug, Slam Bradley, and the Creeper.”

Casting for Batwoman

TV Line – Gabriel Mann (Revenge) cast as “Thomas “Tommy” Elliot, a childhood friend of Kate’s AWOL cousin, Bruce Wayne, who grew up to become a real estate mogul boasting easy charm and a friendly smile”
Rachel Matthews (Happy Death Day) as Magpie “an extremely intelligent and deft thief who, as her code name suggests, is drawn to shiny things and thus has a penchant for pickpocketing the rich”
Deadline – Sebastian Roché will have a recurring role as “Dr. Campbell, one of Gotham’s most well-respected plastic surgeons and philanthropists.”
The Hollywood Reporter – Rachel Maddow (MSNBC) cast as radio personality Vesper Fairchild; currently no plans for on-screen appearance
