New shows announced by HBO Max

  • Green LanternGreg Berlanti described it as “what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can’t reveal any more about that just yet.” no details on characters/creatives/episode count
  • Strange Adventures “an anthology that explores characters across the sprawling DC Comics world. The hourlong drama will explore closed-ended morality tales about the intersecting lives of mortals and superhumans.”
  • SA to be produced by John Stephens (Gotham) and Berlanti productions
  • Strange Adventures was a long-running comic title that started in 1950 and has had multiple revivals; focused on science fiction and a variety of characters like Captain Comet and Adam Strange
  • DC Superhero High (Executive produced by Elizabeth Banks) – “a half-hour comedy that follows a group of students experiencing the fun and drama of adolescence at a boarding school for gifted kids. These teens are just trying to navigate the pressures of high school, but none of them realize that someday they will become legendary DC superheroes.”

Superman & Lois series put into development at The CW

Epix has ordered a second season of Pennyworth – (TV Line)

  • 10 episodes again, to debut in 2020
  • Epix president Michael Wright – “It was the highest-performing original series ever to premiere on Epix, more than doubling the viewership of the shows that came before it.”

The CW has ordered a full season of Batwoman – (Variety)

  • Makes a total of 22 episodes for the season

Netflix to split the 5th and final season of Lucifer into 2 parts – (Entertainment Weekly)

  • 16 episodes total – 8 at a time
