  • “While sources say it’s not yet a done deal, Pattinson is the top choice and it’s expected to close shortly.”
  • Pattinson is known for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Twilight saga, and Good Time
  • Deadline says he is on a shortlist with Nicholas Hoult (Beast from recent X-Men films)
  • The Hollywood Reporter says Pattinson is the frontrunner, and “other names that have been floated alongside Pattinson’s over the last month have been Armie Hammer, Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Taylor-Johnson”
  • To begin filming late 2019/early 2020 for June 25, 2021 release date

James Gunn talks briefly about The Suicide Squad in interview with Deadline

Peter Jackson apparently turned down the chance to direct AquamanEmpire
